Rubber Molded 2-Piece Penetrator System

Product Description

In some fields, wells with relatively small casing sizes may be outfitted with large production tubing. This can result in clearance problems just below the tubing hanger, with virtually no space available for a lower connector. For these situations, BIW Connector Systems has developed a variety of penetrator solutions where the lower ESP cable is integrally sealed to the electrical feedthru. These FTLM (Feedthru with Lower Molded) penetrators are effective answers to clearance problems. In some situations, the lower cable termination is wholly located within the tubing hanger, meaning that only the ESP cable exits from the bottom of the hanger.

These feedthrus are most commonly installed from below the tubing hanger and secured above with a retention nut. With a separable surface connector on top, workovers are fast and easy. The Surface Connectors are supplied with coupling rings retained by ball bearings. This retention method ensures longer life, better resistance to corrosion, and easier engagement. The Surface Connectors are also supplied with replaceable sealing elements. These new seals consist of
O-rings that are easily replaced with a special tool, making re-use both easy and safe. Click here for more information.
