Metal-Lok HT Wellhead Penetrator System

Product Description

The Metal-Lok™ High Temperature wellhead penetrator system is rated 450°F (232°C) and 3,000 psi and is suitable for some of the most challenging downhole conditions. Like the rest of the Metal-Lok™ family, this product has been subjected to BIW Connector Systems' qualification regimen to prove its robustness and reliability. This rigorous process consists of aging the product in refined hydrocarbons and applying water and gas at max pressure and temperature, followed by repetitive pressure cycling. The Metal-Lok™ High Temperature system has a field attachable lower, which is configurable to many different cables, making the system flexible for a wide variety of installations. Being field attachable also eliminates the need for a downhole splice, which saves rig time.

The Surface Connectors are supplied with coupling rings retained by ball bearings. This retention method ensures longer life, better resistance to corrosion, and easier engagement. For more information click here.

FAQs

What are the key differences between the Metal-Lok™ and Metal-Lok™ High Temperature products?

The internal components of the Metal-Lok High Temperature Wellhead Penetrator have been redesigned to accommodate the effects of a much more severe operating environment. The exterior surface of the connector has been modified for improved heat transfer and cooling. The exterior seals to the hanger and top flange have been fitted with high temperature O-Rings and back-up rings. The connection system includes a new Metal-Lok™ keying system for positive protection against inadvertent rotation of the surface connector. A new sealing system specifically designed for high temperatures provides the seals between system components.
